Watch this 1-minute video, and see if you can guess who does the audio promo.
Duh. You knew before you landed here. That’s The Illustrious Jason Levine.
The Glyndon Guys Podcast is the love of my creative life, insofar as my “hands-on” producerial projects. The cast is made up of Matt Clark, Rick Atkinson, and yours truly. I adore these guys.
While in town for the Summer leg of the Adobe Create Now 2014 tour, Jason spent one of his few ‘free’ days helping me level things up a bit.
Note: If you’re into behind-the-scenes stuff, I cover all phases of the show’s production on Behance via The Glyndon Guys Podcast – The Producer’s Chronicle. See what else I’ve been up to in 2014.
The guys and I were on a Summer break, but we gathered up for a special session on June 21st. It was pure magic for me. Never even realized we were recording on the 4th anniversary of CodeBass Radio until a few days later. I couldn’t have planned a more ideal way to mark that occasion.
Jason consulted with me on audio, figuring in a couple new pieces of gear and running the board for our session.
He took photos. He captured video. After the session, he sifted clips and exported stills with me in my studio. (As we were both zombified from working the Adobe event, I offered him an out just before we got to this point. He wouldn’t hear of killing the momentum.)
Here’s the first video I created with the assets that resulted from that day. You can see the new audio equipment in action and wider shots of the cast.
(You can hear The Great James Allen in this one. Again, Duh. He does our intros and outtros. He also hosts The 80sRewind Show LIVE on CodeBass Radio @ 1pm EST on Fridays!)
A few weeks ago, Jason made an impromptu set of Glyndon Guys promos for me during a recording session at his baby grand piano. Among them was the sound bed of the video you just saw up top.
By the way, Jason also gave me exclusive use of the awesome music I weave throughout The Glyndon Guys Podcast. It’s in the intros, outtros, and I use it to segment the show for a very cohesive overall style.
And that, you see, is why I love to promote the guy. If you need more, I’ve pretty much said it all before..
Jason performed live in Las Vegas at the Adobe 2015 WWSC earlier this week.. in full Elvis garb. If you know him, you know it’s been a lifelong goal of his to perform Elvis style on stage in Vegas. By all accounts, he killed it. Of course.
CAN WE PLEASE HAVE THIS AT MAX NOW??
Most of Jason’s adoring public can’t go to the Adobe sales conference.
Incidentally, Elvis wasn’t the only role Jason played this past week. Check out this photo by Terry White, because it is all-around immense. There are more from this shoot on Behance.
And now I leave you with a song.
In the middle of making The Glyndon Guys Podcast piano promos, Jason broke out into a stunning 1.5 minute performance.. punctuated simply by the show’s name. I’ve no doubt anyone who hits PLAY will hang in there long enough to hear it.
You can see Jason playing piano in his latest music video, The Toot Toot Monster.
