Well, this has been some first week. I’m absolutely blown away! I cannot believe the variety of community talent with whom I’ve crossed paths already. So much has gone on, but I’ll start with what for me personally is…
My two primary project muses, Matt Gifford and Ben Farrell, have agreed to be my first two official CodeBass team members. That right there validates this whole effort for me, personally. What do official CodeBass team members do? Heck, I don’t even know yet. At minimum, they’ll get logins and will be doing some of the writing and tweeting. At some point, they’ll get t-shirts. I’m sure Matt doesn’t have enough t-shirts. :)
Ben has been ever so patient with me. I really wanted to kickoff with both Ben and Matt featured on the front. By all rights, Ben should have been there. Alas, needs and priorities prevailed that bumped him back by a week. You will be seeing his feature on Monday, and I can’t wait to get it out there. He’s got quite a repertoire.
I had the pleasure of meeting Joseph Labrecque on Day One. He’s the guy with the uber awesome Community Compilation CD project going on. He wanted to remind everyone that the deadline is fast approaching, so I slid a feature in for him on Tuesday. Don’t forget, he is only accepting submissions until 7/1/2010.
Days later, it was revealed that a beta version of Audition for Mac would come out later this year. Loved this news, so I took the opportunity to reach out to Jason Levine for some answers to my novice questions about Audition in general. Turned out to be a great article, and you can bet I snagged him for a feature of his own down the road. While I can’t hold a candle to this guy’s list of accomplishments, it turns out we have quite a bit in common.
He’s turned the industry on its side. Fair ’nuff…
Coming up in the near future will be Travis Makarowski and his Canned Radio CMS. It is hard to say when, because I really want to dive into online radio and would love to feature him with an insider perspective. Given my schedule, I will probably feature him after Ben… where he surely belongs, being the third major inspiration for this CodeBass project. Then, I’ll come back later with my groovy new DJ hotness. Heh. :)
James Allen is absolutely exploding onto the scene with JamesAllenVoice, and I can’t wait to showcase stuff he’s been producing with Adobe Audition, as well as the raw drops he’s been providing to online radio efforts in various parts of the world.
UPDATE: I had my facts backwards this morning. Eric Fickes, does fascinating stuff with Flash. What had grabbed my attention was this video about The Compiler Visualizer.
Jun Heider is the Flex man….
… and both are in a band called The Compilers, along with Scott Sheridan, who have now set about to contribute to the aforementioned CD Compilation project. w00t! Looks like this might be worth splitting up into 3 articles, if they’re into it. Flex, Flash, & funky grooves. :)
Thanks to following @ericfickes with my Twitter main, Thursday night, I stumbled onto a dude and his dog spinnin’ DJ style for our late night pleasure. Sean Moore, aka @seantheflexguy. It was live, and it was good. He was all kinds of fun, and I locked him in for a feature.
Another upcoming future feature well worthy of note is Mike Brunt and his ambient music. He has a lot going on, just wait and see…
… and though we haven’t had a chance for in-depth conversation, I’ve heard from the multi-talented Judith Barnett. Looks like she is a voice of blip.fm, among other things. Given my own online radio plans, this could be interesting! Thanks for the references, my good friend Charlie. :)
Look at this list already! Just wow. You can follow them all on Twitter by clicking their tweet screenies. I can’t wait to see what the future brings. I am flying SKY HIGH.
Ah, last minute addition! @theflashmonkey … formerly known as @iamflashmonkey … is allowing me to post this kick ass freaking video, and he’ll be back with more as well! His Twitter account got fux0red, so follow his new one! This is a glimpse of his talents for bass. So many Flex guys on bass. What is that??

What a truly awesome launch of Codebass Vicky! It’s been a really exciting week and I to am blown away by the contributions you have been receiving and how superbly you have put everything together.
Loved the summary – the twitter grabs really give that community feeling which this site really exudes.

@Erika, thanks lady. :) Thank YOU for the space and for helping me hone my mad skillz over the last year or two. Am I supposed to have something in the footer yet?
Wow . . . you sure are rolling! Looking forward to see more of the goodness.
